This course is aimed at training for the job of “General Duty Assistant”, in the “Healthcare industry”.
The General Duty Assistants are to provide patient’s daily care, patient’s comfort, patient’s safety and patient’s health needs.
The General Duty Assistants – Healthcare (GDAs) are also known as “Nursing Care Assistants”, “Nursing Assistants”, “Nursing Aides”, “Bedside Assistants”, or “Orderlies” when working in a hospital environment.
General Duty Assistants (GDAs) help nurses and other members of the healthcare team. They work within the hospital or community settings under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional. The role can be varied depending upon the area in which the person is employed. The individual should be result oriented. The individual should also be able to demonstrate basic patient care skills, communication skills and ethical behaviour. The individual should be willing to work in wards or clinics in shifts.
